Piano
The piano is an acoustic, stringed musical instrument invented in Italy by Bartolomeo Cristofori around the year 1700 (the exact year is uncertain), in which the strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material (modern hammers are covered with dense wool felt; some early pianos used leather). It is played using a keyboard, which is a row of keys (small levers) that the performer presses down or strikes with the fingers and thumbs of both hands to cause the hammers to strike the strings.

Piano lessons are available at our North Vancouver location, Accent Music Studios, and can also be taken online if learning remotely is preferable.

At Accent Music Studios we offer private piano lessons for all ages, from absolute beginners to advanced, experienced players. Learn to play for recreation, prepare for RCM and ABRSM exams and college/university auditions with our experienced instructors.
Our North Vancouver studios are equipped with new, Kawai upright pianos. There is plenty of room in each studio for 2-3 meter distancing. Mask wearing is requested to keep both students and instructors safe.
