Ken Petry

French Horn

Ken Petry has been a member of the horn section in the West Coast Symphony Orchestra of Vancouver since 2003. He also plays occasionally with the Lion’s Gate Sinfonia, the only professional orchestra on the North Shore, having played the famous 4th horn solo in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with them in 2008.

In 2017, he performed the Brahm’s Trio for Horn, Violin and Piano at Burning Man and the Bach Brandenburg Concerto #1 with the Harmonia Chamber Orchestra of Vancouver.

In December 2018, he performed as 4th horn soloist with the horn section of the West Coast Symphony Orchestra when they played the Konzertstück for Four Horns and Orchestra by Robert Schumann, the most famous piece written for horn and orchestra, but rarely played due to the difficulties of the four Solo horn parts.

He particularly loves playing woodwind quintets, and then there is the Alphorn!!
